Understanding Filters

Apella's real-time video processing and machine learning technology provides valuable insights into surgical operations, allowing operating room staff and scheduling managers to make informed decisions. One of the key features of Apella's platform is the ability to filter data to see specific patterns or trends.

Using filters in your business

Filters are a powerful tool for analyzing data in Apella's online dashboard. They allow teams to focus on specific surgeons, procedures, rooms, days, times of day, and dates, and see how these factors impact surgical operations. Customers can configure filters to see exactly what they want to see, and filter out any data that isn't relevant to their analysis.


Using saved filters

Apella provides the ability (in Insights) to save filters. When you get a set of filters that you like, you can click the (+) to create a named view that you can return to again and again.


Sample Use Cases

Monthly Reports: A OR director, analyst of VP of Perioperative Services might want to create reports that they use monthly to understand operational performance.


Robot Room Turnovers: A OR manager might want to see how long it takes to turn over a specific operating room after a surgery. Using Apella's filters, they can easily select the room(s) they want to analyze, and see a chart that shows how long it took to turn over the room after each surgery.


Outlier Management: Keep an eye on the outlier events that tend to impact efficiency, surgeon relationships and staff burnout!


Looking ahead

As Apella's platform continues to evolve, new filters will be added to support even more types of data analysis. This will allow teams to dive even deeper into their data to identify areas for improvement and make informed decisions about their surgical operations.
