Look up predicted case duration

This article will help you understand how to look up predicted case duration using Apella.

How Case Duration works in Apella

Apella's Case Duration tool is designed to provide Schedulers with precise procedure and turnover duration for each surgeon and case combination. Apella uses predictive AI models, Apella-detected data, and historical EHR data to predict case durations with greater accuracy.

Key Benefits

  1. Accuracy: Apella’s predictive model analyzes more factors than EHRs—surgeon, procedure, case complexity, all historical data, and outliers—for superior precision.
  2. Always Up-to-date: Continuously integrates live case length data, keeping projections aligned with changing patterns.
  3. Designed to Reduce Bias: Incorporates data auto-detected by Apella computer vision vs EHRs that exclusively rely on manually entered data.
