On Time Starts for All Cases (ACOTS)
Apella On Time Starts let's you to track on-time performance for all cases, not just first cases. This expanded tracking allows you to measure perfomance beyond the first case of the day, and filter by service line, room, or procedure to better understand what is contributing to late starts.
Using ACOTS in your business
Tracking all case on time starts (ACOTS) can give broader insights into how well OR teams are performing as compared to the schedule.
On its own, the ACOTS metric allows you to track how often cases start on-time. Combined with additional data on delays – delay reason and delay duration, ACOTS can provide a clear picture of total time lost, and the sources of inefficiencies happening in your OR.
Calculating ACOTS and related metrics
ACOTS is determined by dividing the number of on-time cases from the total number of cases and is expressed as a percentage (%) (replace picture below)
Average delay is determined by dividing the total delay (in minutes) by the total number of delayed cases. (replace picture below)
